Maple Energy is committed to the protection of the environment and the ecosystem achieving the highest environmental standards and complying with all laws and regulations established by the Peruvian Government.  Environmental and Social Impacts Assessments (EIAs) are performed by Maple for its development projects in order to minimize any environmental or social impacts and to devise adequate prevention and mitigations plans.

Maple recognizes the responsibility to develop natural resources with an awareness of the environment and social needs.  As a result of its programs and best industry practices, Maple was awarded with the Environmental Effort Award in 1997 and 1999 by the National Society of Energy and Mines.  In 1998, the Engineers School of Peru also awarded the Company for having the best hygiene and industrial safety program.
